Available assistance includes:

  • Sedan chair services with trained porters

  • Personal porters to assist with daypacks and personal belongings

  • Advance coordination of suitable trekking arrangements with park authorities

  • Guidance on appropriate clothing, footwear and trekking preparation

Please advise us of any mobility considerations before booking so we can discuss suitable arrangements.

Important Booking Information

Two gorilla permits: The package includes two separate mountain gorilla trekking permits per person, one for each scheduled trekking day. Permits are subject to availability and should be secured well in advance.

Gorilla family allocation: Uganda Wildlife Authority assigns gorilla families and trekking groups. The two experiences may involve different families or trekking sectors, depending on park arrangements and permit availability. A particular family or specific trekking difficulty cannot be guaranteed.

Domestic flights: The Entebbe–Kidepo flight and the Kidepo–western Uganda charter arrangement depend on aircraft availability, routing, weather and operating schedules. The final airstrip and ground transfer arrangements must be confirmed before booking.

Luggage: Domestic aircraft and charter flights have strict baggage allowances. Soft-sided luggage is generally recommended, and exact weight and size limits will be provided once flights are confirmed.

Day 4 flight connection: The charter routing should be selected to provide a practical connection to Queen Elizabeth National Park. An afternoon game drive will depend on the actual arrival time.

Day 9 border transfer: The journey from Lake Mutanda through the Cyanika border into Kigali is a substantial travel day. The optional canoe excursion should be scheduled only if time, weather and border arrangements permit.

Cross-border travel: Travellers must have the required travel documents and comply with Uganda and Rwanda immigration requirements. Visa arrangements should be checked according to each traveller’s nationality.

Wildlife sightings: Wildlife encounters are naturally unpredictable. Although the parks offer excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, sightings of particular animals cannot be guaranteed.
