Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi — Welcome to Kenya
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where you will be warmly welcomed by your safari representative and transferred to your Nairobi hotel.
After check-in, take time to relax and recover from your international journey. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner followed by a safari briefing covering the journey ahead, wildlife expectations, and practical safari information.

Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel south toward Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic wildlife destinations and famous for its enormous elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for your first afternoon game drive.
Explore the open Amboseli plains in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and numerous bird species. As the afternoon light softens, enjoy magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Full-Day Amboseli National Park Safari
Rise early for a rewarding game drive across Amboseli, when wildlife is most active and the morning light creates exceptional photography opportunities.
Explore the park’s wetlands, open grasslands, acacia woodland, and groundwater-fed areas. Amboseli is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, often seen moving across the plains with Mount Kilimanjaro rising dramatically in the background.
Keep watch for lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, and a wide variety of antelope and birdlife.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation before continuing with an afternoon game drive. Depending on your interests, optional experiences such as a Maasai cultural visit can also be arranged.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, leave Amboseli behind and continue toward Tsavo West National Park, a landscape dramatically different from the open plains of Amboseli.
Upon entering Tsavo West, enjoy a scenic game drive through volcanic landscapes, lava flows, rolling hills, and bushland.
Visit the famous Mzima Springs, a natural oasis fed by underground waters from the surrounding volcanic mountains. The springs are home to hippos, crocodiles, fish, and abundant birdlife, making this a fascinating stop within the park.
Continue with an afternoon game drive as you explore Tsavo West in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, and other wildlife.
Arrive at your lodge in the evening, enjoy dinner, and relax surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 5: Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park
After breakfast, depart Tsavo West and continue eastward toward Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest protected wilderness areas.
The landscape gradually opens into vast plains and remote wilderness. Along the way, enjoy game viewing opportunities as you search for some of Tsavo’s most iconic wildlife.
Tsavo East is particularly renowned for its legendary red elephants, whose coats often take on a distinctive reddish appearance from the park’s red volcanic soil.
Continue your safari through the park with opportunities to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, oryx, gerenuk, and lesser kudu.
Arrive at your accommodation in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 6: Full-Day Tsavo East National Park Safari
Spend a full day exploring the immense wilderness of Tsavo East.
Begin with an early morning game drive, giving you the best opportunity to encounter wildlife while temperatures are cooler and predators are most active.
Explore some of the park’s renowned wildlife areas and landscapes, including Aruba Dam, the Galana River, Mudanda Rock, and the Yatta Plateau, one of the park’s most remarkable geological features.
Throughout the day, look for large elephant herds, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading out for another afternoon game drive.
As the sun sets across the Tsavo wilderness, return to your lodge for your final evening in the park.

Day 7: Tsavo East – Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast before beginning your journey back to Nairobi.
As you leave Tsavo behind, take in the changing landscapes and reflect on the wildlife encounters and experiences from the previous days.
Arrive in Nairobi later in the day and check into your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time and interests, the afternoon can be spent relaxing at the hotel, enjoying some optional shopping, or exploring one of Nairobi’s attractions.
In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner celebrating your Kenya safari adventure.

Day 8: Nairobi – Departure
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel before preparing for your onward journey.

Every Earth Explorers expedition includes an international airfare allowance based on average economy-class fares from select major international departure gateways at the time the itinerary is published.
This airfare allowance is included in your package price. If the actual airfare at the time of ticketing exceeds the included allowance due to seasonal demand, airline fare increases, limited seat availability, changes in departure city, or traveler-requested itinerary modifications, the traveler will be responsible for paying the fare difference before airline tickets are issued.
If the actual airfare is less than the included allowance, any applicable savings may be reflected in the final invoice or applied toward eligible travel services, at the discretion of Earth Explorers Inc.
